Galena Il Fall Season
Fall is here!   It’s our favorite season in Galena IL.  Shops are brilliantly decorated in Fall and Halloween colors.  At The Steamboat House, our Galena Bed and Breakfast, Fall is the beginning of our most popular season.  It’s busy and fun, and the topography of Jo Daviess County is amazing.   It’s beautiful here at any time of year, but a Galena getaway in the Fall is the BEST.  Be sure to call us for Fall specials, especially during the last 2 weeks of October!

Many special visitors were in Galena this week.  A wonderful group of six ladies — a book club — stayed with us for 3 days and they were fun (and busy).  These ladies enjoyed Galena tours, the winery, Mark Twain, the bead bar, and Tarot readings!

Galena IL attractions
When guests stay at a Galena Bed and Breakfast like The Steamboat House, they have a real advantage.  Innkeepers help them to discover lots of new things to do like visiting the Mississippi Palisades. (http://www.stateparks.com/mississippi_palisades.html)  This is a 2500-acre State Park with lofty, steep cliffs, limestone caves, wooded ravines and trails.  In September and October, the Park is simply spectacular!
