This Galena bed and breakfast is always a step above a Galena Hotel or other lodging.   Here are some photos of the recent Labor Day Weekend.  The Bakers enjoyed playing pool while celebrating their first wedding anniversary, and frequent guests the Lautzenheisers were a great audience!  New guests the McFarlands joined us from Ohio and took advantage of the great Fall weather to relax on the front porch with a glass of wine.
The City of Galena has begun a summer promotion entitled Summer Savings.  Visitors who stay during the week can redeem their paid receipt for Galena Dollars at the Visitor Information Center.  That’s it!  Just stay any 2 weeknights between July 18 and September 1 2011.   Rebates are as follows:  2-night stay = $25; 3-night stay = $35!     What a fabulous chance to visit The Steamboat House.      Lower weekday rates PLUS a rebate from Galena.  Sounds like a plan!
So much fun when a talented guest begins playing the piano during wine time and the other guests start singing along! The difference between a Galena hotel and the Steamboat House Bed and Breakfast in Galena is that guests have a choice between enjoying their privacy or meeting new friends and having fun during social times.
Galena Il truly provides a wealth of summer activities!  Outdoors, enjoy golf, horseback riding, kayaking, hiking, and hot air ballooning.  For those who appreciate the 11 1/2 tons of air conditioning at The Steamboat House, enjoy a leisurely glass of wine.   If we’re lucky, one of our guests will share their piano talent!
Join us at Galena’s Steamboat House for fun this summer.  Visit a winery (there are 9 wineries nearby!), check out the Galena Brewing Company, enjoy fine restaurants, explore a museum, take a riverboat ride, paddle a canoe, applaud and laugh at the Mark Twain show, or just relax.
You’ll start your day at a beautifully set table and a 3-course breakfast and return to the inn for complimentary wine and cheese time.
The gardens are ready for summer.  Sit a spell on the front porch, enjoy the garden gazebo with lights and fan, or just enjoy the garden with its many twinkling lights at night.
